10.12.09 was the last day for this years Sandite trains .It will be interesting to see what happens with the 2010 sandite train after 8097 suffered a major engine failure during the 2009 season and had to be hauled dead in the formation.

The Blue Thunderer Railtour ran on various lines on the NIR network plus two return trips to Dublin from Belfast today 8113 plus the Gatwick set operated all of the tour other than the last run to Dublin and return to Belfast , due to a problem with the gatwick set which was operated by NIR 3 car Caf set 3008 .All photos taken today of the tour where on the closed Lisburn to Antrim line other than the photo of Caf 3008 which was passing Seagoe Portadown on its run to Dublin of the railtour.

On the 16.1.08 the 18.00 service from Belfast Great Victoria Street Station to Portadown failed on the Lurgan side of the Silverwood Road Bridge the set involved was 3013 and was later towed to Portadown by 3014 arriving into Platform 1 at 23:05 .The failure also blocked the 18:10 Enterprise to Dublin on the Portadown side of the Francis Street Road Bridge Lurgan this train was being operated by 9001 +230 ,this train arrived in Platform 2 in Portadown at 23:08 and departed back empty to Belfast at 23:13 .Also blocked at Lurgan Station was 111 on the Gatwick set training train this train arrived into Portadown Platform 3 at 23:19 and stabled there until working the 07:50 service to Belfast the following morning.In one of the photos at Silverwood you can just make out the 3 trains sitting in the dark behind each other in the space of a mile and half also theres a photo of 111 + Gatwicks sitting in Lurgan Station at 22:45 .What a night
